Niru with Toronto author Zenia Wadhwani via Zoom
Diwali is a special time for those who do celebrate… it’s packed with family fun and festive cheer, fancy outfits and scrumptious delights, twinkling candles and popping firecrackers, and mystical legends and triumphant victories.
Most importantly, it symbolizes the eradication of ignorance by enlightenment and knowledge, the defeat of the dark by the presence of light, and vanquishing of evil by all that is good.
In short, it symbolizes hope, so this is an especially meaningful time in the history of humankind to be celebrating!
Listen to Niru on CBC Radio One Toronto’s Metro Morning this week with her reflections on Diwali.
On today’s episode, we are featuring a newly published children’s Diwali book called “’Twas the Night Before Diwali” by author Zenia Wadhwani. It’s a charming twist on the classic Christmas poem, with spectacular accompanying illustrations that will draw in readers of any age!
You can buy ‘Twas the Night Before Diwali on Amazon in the US, India and Canada.
One last word. On behalf of myself and my producer – TNKR Media – to all of you amazing, engaged listeners, thank you so much for staying with us. We are so grateful every time you lend us your ears. More episodes are coming.
Happy Diwali!
